The Isola di San Michele (English: Island of San Michele), also called the Island of the Dead is an island in the Venetian Lagoon in Veneto, Italy. It was home to a cemetery and a church dedicated to Saint Michael. Beneath the island was a temple built by the Cult of Hermes where a fake Staff of Hermes was hidden.
Seraphina, a member of the Cult, sought to gain possession of the Staff and use it to wage revenge for the deaths of her brother and father, both of whom were killed by the Italian Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze. She and her cult entered the temple and retrieved the Staff, only to realize it was a fake. Seraphina was soon after cut down by Ezio, who pursued her on a gondola.[1]
