Abū al-ʿAbbās Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Kathīr al-Farghānī (c. 800 – 870) was an Abbasid astronomer who lived in Baghdad. Though his work, he is considered one of the most famous astronomers in the 9th century.[1]
A contemporary of scholar Fazil Fahim al-Kemsa in the House of Wisdom, Al-Farghani rejected his preachings and did not attend his lecture during the Great Symposium. During said event, he met the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq, who was honored to meet him and read his works.[2]
