The Cult of Baphomet was a secretive group of unholy cultists in Paris, France during the late 18th century that worshipped Baphomet, a deity the Knights Templar were accused of worshipping.

In 1791, the Assassin Arno Dorian stole two holy chalices from the Notre-Dame as part of his feigned initiation into the cult. After being granted their password, "May the father of understanding guide us", Arno entered the cult's lair beneath a graveyard and eliminated three Templars who had infiltrated the cult.
