Charlie Oliver, also known under the self-given moniker Charlie the Great, was a young man that ran away from his parents at the age of ten. Hiding in a barrel of apples aboard a ship, he was taken to America, where he eventually met the Comte de Marigot. Showing great affection for the boy, de Marigot gave him a tricorn. However, the count was unsure what to do with Charlie, and therefore introduced him to the Templars.
At some point in his life, Charlie sailed with the pirate Kumi Berko, stealing from his plunder and crew.
In 2013, his genetic memories were used as an Animi Avatar by the entertainment branch of the Templar company Abstergo Industries, to influence the general public via the Animus game console, under the title of the Stowaway.
