Addaya was an Egyptian farmer who lived near Dionysias during the 1st century BCE.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 48 BCE, Addaya was captured by the bandits following Son of Ra, and taken to their hideout. Somehow, along with the boy Rahotep, he was able to escape, but the ordeal had left him shaken, and dubbed a 'madman' when he returned to their village. His speech was riddled with references to demons and monsters and burning. These rants fed the rumors of what was happening in the region.[1]

In 48 BCE, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa heard of the troubles around Dionysias, and came to investigate. He met Addaya, and learned from him about Rahotep, a boy that Addaya had been too afraid to help.[1]

While Bayek sought out Rahotep, Addaya continued his wandering and ranting.[1]
