- The ship possesses some similarities to the Jackdaw, not only in appearance but also in name, since both ships are named after birds frequently found in Wales.
- According to its description, it is possible that the Jack Snipe was once a part of Edward Kenway's fleet, and that he named the ship before it came into Alonzo Batilla's possession.
