That year, Naoe and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Yasuke were tasked by Mamushi with examining the rumors of yōkai throughout Japan. During their investigation in Ōmi, they arrived at Kawachi Kaza-ana Cave, where they discovered a Yuki-onna, as well as her numerous victims. They confronted the woman, killed her, and retrieved the sword from her personal effects.[1]
