Puerto Rico is an unincorporated United States commonwealth and an island located in the Caribbean, situated east of Hispaniola.

During the early the 16th century, the Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León was appointed the first Governor of Puerto Rico.[1] In 1510, de León accused the Puerto Rican translator Alonso Carlo of planning his assassination, and ordered that Carlo be executed without trial. Carlo fled to Florida alongside his adopted son Miguel Ramón Carlo de Lugo, where they came into contact with the Assassin Brotherhood.[2]
