Puerto Rico is an unincorporated United States commonwealth and an island located in the Caribbean, situated east of Hispaniola.

During the early the 16th century, the Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León was appointed the first Governor of Puerto Rico.[1] In 1510, de León accused the Puerto Rican translator Alonso Carlo of planning an assassination on de León, and ordered him to be executed without trial. Alonso Carlo fled to Florida alongside his son Miguel Ramón Carlo de Lugo, where they came into contact with the Assassin Brotherhood.[2]
