Corrected spelling/grammar
Under "Siege of Masyaf", there is a line reading "Taking the village, slaughtering its inhabitants, and besieging the castle, Altaïr and several groups of Assassins ran to defend the village."
This is incorrect sentence structure and does not - strictly speaking - make any sense. The way this sentence is written implies that Altaïr and the other Assassins were the ones taking the village, slaughtering its inhabitants, etc.
This sentence is in desperate need of rephrasal. I reccomend "While the attacking templars were taking the village, slaughtering its inhabitants, and besieging the castle, Altaïr and several groups of Assassins ran to defend the village it." be substituted.

Altair's Age at the beginning
At first, I'm sorry for my bad english. I have read, that he is 25 years old at the beginning in Assassin's Creed 1, but his birthday is the 11. January 1165. He had met Robert de Sable in early 1191, so he must be 26 Years old at that time? I'm not sure, which information is correct?

- Assassin's Creed could just as well have started on January 3. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 12:13, November 2, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, that could be possible. I have thought that Altair is for a longer time 25 years old, because the fact was so accentuated (because of Desmond) and the Assassin's Creed Revelations timeline has him reputedly being 26 during the second mission (I haven't played Revelations). It was my error in reasoning.
94.218.48.73 12:43, November 2, 2012 (UTC)
- Altaïr's birthday is in June.
- That's an odd thing! The official Assassin's Creed Site on Facebook indicate January for Altair's birthday. Which source is accurate? (92.74.33.88 22:39, February 15, 2013 (UTC))
Why the old picture?
I was just wondering, given the site's usual rule of using the newest, retconned, or otherwise official image of a character for their article's cover photo (or whatever it's actually called), why Alair's pic is his render from the first game. I know Desmond's was changed back to the one from Brotherhood, as apposed to he his newer one from Revelations, but I thought that was because his face in that image bears more resemblance to his newer one in ACIII.
Getting slightly off topic. My point is, being that it's basically identical to how he looked in the first game, save being slightly more detailed, and having a glove on both hands (which is actually more accurate to how he's looked in-game throughout the whole series), his render from Revelations would be a better choice.
Hell, it even cleanly shows him from the front, which I'd imagine would be preferable to having his back turned to the point where you can barely see his face. Even if you dislike the changes they made to his face in Revelations, you can't really argue that here since his face is mostly shadowed, and it's impossible to tell the difference, really. I was actually going to just go ahead and change the image anyway since they are so similar, but realized there must be a reason for it not already being his image, and decided to ask everyone else first.
He also has what I think is a new render in his database entry in Assassin's Creed III, but it only shows him from about the mid thigh and up, so I guess that one's not really going to work.
Anyway, yeah, so should the image be changed, and if not, then why?
Nickreaper (talk) 08:40, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
I would change it, but the main argument would be that he's basically dead now canonically speaking. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 09:38, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
This image is the most iconic of Altaïr, as it has been part of much promotional imagery featuring him, and he is known mostly for his role in the first Assassin's Creed game. Slate Vesper (talk) 09:56, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
"given the site's usual rule of using the newest, retconned, or otherwise official image of a character for their article's cover photo" Uhm what? We have no such thing. The reason why this render is up is because we have multiple renders to choose from and each has their own opinion on which one we should choose. I'm not too fond of the current one either but the reason we use it is because it is the one used for Altaïr's entry in the Encyclopedia (first edition at least), thus being more "neutral". -- Master Sima Yi Talk 09:58, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's basically the same kind of reasoning I gave. Being that it's the last one to be used by Ubisoft themselves in something big and importantly like that gives it a sense of "officialness", which is more than fair enough. Nickreaper (talk) 04:29, January 14, 2013 (UTC)

Can we switch Altaïr's pic to this???
Awesomekid120 (talk) 10:56, April 30, 2013 (UTC)Awesomekid120
- Why? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:34, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- No, the current image is the same as Al's encyclopedia entry. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:57, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Perhaps, but we're not the official AC Encyclopedia, are we? We can have a different lead image for our articles, if we so choose. Personally, I think the proposed image is better than the current one, mainly because it's not just a picture of his back. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 12:21, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- You go over that one with Sima. I'm just saying what he usually does. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 12:46, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- I agree, that picture looks better. The current one looks like he is trying to be mysterious and is failing without any smoke effects. Kooala Cupcake. - Leave me a message! 12:54, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- And what about this one? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 13:42, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
That one looks better than both Kain. --ACsenior (talk) 14:31, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
Nah. That one gives (for me atleast) too much of an AC:R feeling. I prefer the one that was...deleted all of a sudden. Kooala Cupcake. - Leave me a message! 15:28, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- It was deleted because it was an unsourced duplicate of the exact same image Gabe uploaded months ago. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 15:54, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
I personally like this one. There are higher quality ones; I just did a quick search. I like this one because he's facing us directly. Kain's one is also good, because it is more canonically accurate in terms of equipment.--Crimson Knight Intercom 15:34, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- I actually like Kain's proposed image as well, although it does look a bit like he's arching his back forward (although that might just be because it's on a transparent white background. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 08:13, May 1, 2013 (UTC)
What was Awesomekid's suggestion? Unfortunately, the image was deleted. Does it exist somewhere else? --Crimson Knight Intercom 20:24, May 1, 2013 (UTC)
- It's there now. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 20:31, May 1, 2013 (UTC)
Shall we put this to a vote, with two of the above and the current render? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 18:40, May 2, 2013 (UTC)
That makes it a lot easyer then an endless discussion. So yes to put up a vote.--ACsenior (talk) 19:39, May 2, 2013 (UTC)
- I'll hold until monday, to give people time to add any other possible renders, then set up a vote. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 20:11, May 2, 2013 (UTC)
Le Vote
Since none of you bastards reminded me, this poll is two days overdue. Anyhow, since people didn't object to the vote and suggested render change, here we have it, with current render, Gabe's render from anniversary poster, and the Revelations render in voting. Poll's open for one week, and ends on Wednesday 15th.

AC4
Shouldnt we say how he is mentioned in AC3 and AC4? -- awyman13 Talk Work 21:44, December 25, 2013 (UTC)
I don't think anything significant could be added from him being mentioned. --Revan's Exile (talk) 22:25, December 25, 2013 (UTC)
- I mean write AC4 in the appearance section of the infobox with (mentioned) next to it. The same could go for Connor who was also mentioned -- awyman13 Talk Work 22:34, December 25, 2013 (UTC)
- There could go a piece into the legacy section about Altaïr's life being analyzed by Abstergo Entertainment for possible games. However, since the article is being reworked by Darkfeather, I think it'd be best to leave it alone for now and wait until it's been revamped :) Crook The Constantine District 22:36, December 25, 2013 (UTC)
