Assassins Creed: Ascendance is a short, animated film project made to expand the Assassin's Creed series that was revealed by Ubi Workshop on November 10, 2010. It came out on November 16th for "PlayStation®Store, Xbox LIVE® for the Xbox 360®, and other digital channels." ^[1]

In the unveiled teaser trailer, an Assassin, clothed in the traditional white cloak and hood, runs atop the rooftops of an unknown city. The project was originally named "Secret Project Number Three" by Ubi Workshop.^[2]

Created as a bridge between Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, it involves Ezio Auditore tracking and gathering information about the Borgia, in order to discover how Cesare Borgia rose to power in Italia.^[3] The film is portrayed mostly through a conversation Ezio has with a hooded contact, wherein he relays Cesare's methods and desire for power, particularly in his vendetta against his brother with the help of Fiora Cavazza.
