Reddy the Blacksmith was the leader of the Bowery Boys, a gang operating in New York City at the time of the American Civil War. The Assassin Varius had some influence on him, leading the Bowery Boys to ally with the Five Poins' men in order to stop the draft riots. Conversely, when the Templar Grand Master William M. Tweed approached Reddy to try to involve his gang in the riots, the Blacksmith immediately refused.
