Vesta

Oidipous (died 47 BCE) was a Roman citizen of Cyrene, Cyrenaica who lived during the 1st century BCE.

Biography

The son of the prostitute named Vesta, he embarked on a quest of vengeance against three men who he believed to be involved in his mother's death, including his father Akakios. It is revealed by Bayek that he was insane and could hear his mother's voice in his head. He dressed as his mother while committing the murders.[1]

Behind the scenes

His name is a variant of the name Oedipous, alluding to the figure in Greek mythology who, after being adopted as a baby, inadvertently slew his birth father Laios and then married his own mother, Jocasta.
