Tammany Hall was a political organization located in New York City and founded soon after the American Revolutionary War. As a political organization, they acted as a lobbyist group for the Democratic Party and sought to provide support for Irish immigrants. By the time of the American Civil War, the organization was led by William M. Tweed, who was also secretly the Grand Master of the Templar Order in United States.
