Tabid Al-Nubi was a Hidden One from the Alamut Brotherhood who served as Rafiq of the bureau in the Abbasiyah district in Baghdad.

Biography

Early life

Tabid Al-Nubi was from the region Nubia south of Egypt. As a youth, he was sent to Fustat by his father to study Islam. At the time, the city was abundant in corruption which led Tabid to join in revolting against the city rulers.[1]The revolt failed and Tabid was left with chronic injuries which kept him from active duty.[2] Fleeing to Baghdad, he came across the Hidden Ones who recruited him into the order.[1]

In the 860s, Tabid was sent to Baghdad along with Rebekah, and later helped scout out the Al-Abbasiyah district for a suitable location to establish another bureau.[3]
