Arib al-Ma'muniyya (c. 797 – 890) was an Abbasid poetess, courtesan, singer and composer who lived during the 9th century. Born into slavery, Arib rose to prominence and became one of the most famous artist in the Abbasid royal court,[1] and lived through through the reigns of five Abbasid caliphs before earning her freedom.[2]
During the Symposium held at the House of Wisdom, Arib met the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq.[3]
