Madoka was a Japanese woman who lived in the village Fushimi.

Biography[edit | edit source]

During the Boshin War, Madoka was engaged to fellow villager Keitaro. Amidst their celebrations, they welcomed two peddlers to join the village in their festivities, unaware that the pair were the disguised siblings Shiba Atsuko and Shiba Ibuka. When the peddlers agreed, they all spent the night drinking and telling stories or jokes.[1] When the next day came, however, Madoka's life was jeopardized when Ibuka poured poison into the village well before he and Atsuko left.[2]
