The ancient nome of Kanopos was a coastal town located on the Nile Delta. The Hippodrome and Apollodorus' Estate were located there. Before the foundation of Alexandria, Kanopos was the principle port for Greek trade along with Herakleion.

Kanopos was the site of a temple to the Egyptian god Serapis.
