The Hualien Trading Company was a trading company under the Qing Empire during the 18th century, dealing mainly in ceramics and tea.[1]

History

Within the Portuguese colony of Macau, Sun served as the head of the branch during the 1720s. Under the Templars' influence, he collaborated with Alan Jacob of the Far East Company and Jan van Aert of the Dutch East India Company to sabotage a rival trading company led by Lee Huiyin,[2] and later on attempted to decipher an encrypted sea log acquired by Shimazu Saito in order to locate the lost Khmer city of Angkor, an allaged Isu site.[3]

The company operated several shops in Macau, most notably a ceramic store, which at one point was visted by the Assassin Edward Kenway and his friend Zhang in an attempt to acquire more information about Sun, with no success.[1] Following the events at Sun's floating gambling hall, which resulted in Sun's death and the ship's destruction, the company lost most of its influence in Macau, allowing Lee to fill the power vacuum and become the city's dominant merchant.[4]
