Hrolfr Kjotvesson (died 872) was the younger son of Kjotve the Cruel and brother of Gorm.
Biography
In mid-872, Hrolfr accompanied his father and older brother to the southern mountains of Rygjafylke in search of treasure. After raiding a village, Hrolfr stayed behind to pillage what else he could from a chest in the central meadhall, but was cornered by three Vikings of the Raven Clan before he could open it. Hrolfr then taunted his clan's sworn enemies, stating that his father had already fled with the treasure they sought. The Vikings responded with force and overpowered Hrolfr, killing him.[1]
