Alfonso Cavallero was a Spanish lieutenant who served under Diego de Burgos during the 15th century.
In 1489, Cavallero was given a painting part of a set belonging to Leonardo da Vinci by Diego for safekeeping. Diego had won the paintings from a nobleman Jaime Del Rada, who was associated with the Spanish Thieves' Guild. Cavallero kept the painting in his villa in Toledo, install numerous traps for safekeeping. However, the Spanish Brotherhood of Assassins were able to disarm the traps and recover the painting.[1]
