Georges Jacques Danton (26 October 1759 – 5 April 1794) was a French lawyer and politician known for his oratory skills and his role in attempting to rebuild the French government. He was a moderate leading figure of the French Revolution, but was eventually guillotined during the Reign of Terror, instigated by Maximilien de Robespierre.
