Galenos was a man living in the Green Mountains, Libya, during the 1st century BCE.
In 47 BCE, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa found Galenos lying by the side of the road leading to Balagrae. The man claimed that a manticore had attacked him and taken his sight, left him pleading for help from the passerbys. Bayek helped the man to the nearby clinic where Galenos' friend, Theramenes, worked.[1]
Theramenes sent Bayek to fetch materials that would enable him to help Galenos. The Medjay did as asked.[1]
Trivia
- In Natho, Herakleion Nome, there is a place called Galenos' House. It is uncertain what, if any, connects these two, on opposite sides of the map.[2]
