Fat Homer (died 48 BCE) was the leader of a group of bandits called Hungry Great Ones in Egypt during the 1st century BCE.
Biography
Before 48 BCE, Fat Homer led his men on raids in Sap-Meh Nome and Sapi-Res Nome. They were so proficient that rumours of them reached Kanopos, stating that Fat Homer and his men rode "war hippos".[1]
During one of their raids in 48 BCE, the Hungry Great Ones raided Jarha's farm, capturing their protector Meketre in the process. This raid also excited the hippos in the river near the farm, and the alarmed beasts laid waste to plants, buildings, and men alike. Only Jarha and his aunt survived the attack. Soon after, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa came upon them and learned what had occurred.[2]
The Medjay sought out the bandits' camp, killing them and rescuing Meketre. Fat Homer, however, wasn't there, but on another raid. The Medjay joined forced with the freed Meketre, and together they hunted down the war chief.[2]
