The villa south of the Temple of Sobek

The Faiyum Nomarch Villa was a large and luxurious house located at the center of Krokodilopolis in Faiyum Oasis. It had a small patio, but was closed on all sides. There were two treasure chests inside which was guarded by two captains. Presumbly, it served as one of the homes of Berenike during her tenure as nomarch in the mid 1st century BCE.

In 48 BCE, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa infiltrated the place and looted its valuables, after which he read a note seated on a stack of papers.[1]
