Sometime in 48 BCE, a series of murders began to take place in the Sarapeion of Karanis, where many of the priests were murdered. On one such occasion, a young priest was tortured and killed in the main hall before being brought to the courtyard infront of the temple to be displayed. This action caught the attention of the Medjay, Bayek, when he visited Karanis.[1]
