Drakon was a friend of Phanos the Younger in Alexandria, Egypt, during the 1st century BCE. He was regarded by Phanos as his "favourite poet", and was present as some of Gennadios' Phylakitai attacked Phanos' house. Luckily, Drakon survived.

Drakon was apparently very fond of wine, leading Phanos to remind him it wasn't meant only for his consumption.
