Down with the Ship was a virtual representation of one of Adéwalé's genetic memories, relived by a research analyst at Abstergo Entertainment through the Animus.
Description
Adéwalé set out to liberate another slave ship.
Dialogue
Adéwalé met with Bastienne Josèphe in La Dame en Rose.
- Bastienne: Adé, Augustin has learned of another slave ship to intercept. I beg you to reconsider.
- Adéwalé: Special orders from your sometime-ish confidant, the Governor?
- Bastienne: No. It is as I feared. With all the slaves you have freed, the French are in a panic.
- Adéwalé: Let the French live with the fear they earned.
- Bastienne: It is not so simple. Curfews are strict. Punishments are harsher and more frequent. You help the ones you freed, but at what cost to the ones you can't?
- Adéwalé: A small price for independence. The sooner Augustin's revolution comes, the sooner all slaves will live in peace as free people.
- Bastienne: Gouverneur de Fayet threatens retaliation.
- Adéwalé: Then he is behind this!
- Bastienne: No. Adéwalé-
- Adéwalé: Not another word. I don't want to hear it.
Adéwalé took Experto Crede out to sea, to search for the slave ship.

- Augustin: In your pirate days, did you cross many slave ships?
- Adéwalé: More than a few. But when I sailed with Kenway, plunder was the only prize. Plunder, or information leading to more plunder.
- Augustin: Did you never wish to intervene?
- Adéwalé: It is wise for a quartermaster to keep his wishes to himself, if he also wishes to remain as quartermaster. But yes, the thought did cross my mind. When the Assassins offered me the opportunity to pursue more serious aims, I left the plundering behind.
- Augustin: But the slave ships also?
- Adéwalé: No, for I am still an Assassin, and I have found them again. I would not trade my years as a pirate for anything.
- Augustin: You enjoyed your freedom.
Adéwalé and his crew destroyed two of the slave ship's escorts, but the last one attempted to sink the slave ship itself.
- Adéwalé: No! They'll sink the ship.
- Augustin: Captain Adé, I think we must act fast! Captain, I worry. If we do not respond fast, it will be too late!
They destroyed the last escort and boarded the slave ship.
- Adéwalé: I'll go below! Return to the ship and prepare to receive survivors.
Adéwalé freed the slaves trapped below deck.
- Adéwalé: Hurry! Go now!

The ship sank, and Adéwalé barely managed to escape. Later, the Maroons buried the drowned slaves on a beach.
- Bastienne: (Governor) de Fayet. I thought I understood his indifference. I did not anticipate the extent of his hearltessness.
- Adéwalé: You tried to warn me. We are all guilty. But the governor will pay with his own life. My creed demands that I see to it.
- Augustin: (It's useless.) Revenge is cold comfort. Once De Fayet is gone, another tyrant will take his place.
- Adéwalé: His death must give this generation of warriors hope. They must not abandon the goal of independence.
- Bastienne: And the death of these souls? Some barely knew life.
- Augustin: We will always mourn them.
Outcome
Adéwalé tried to rescue the slaves in the slave ship, but the majority of them died as the ship sank.
