Djehuty was a priest from a farmhouse outside Thebes who worshipped the Aten and pharaoh Akhenaten during the 1st century BCE.
Biography
In 38 BCE, Djehuty was kidnapped by a group of bandits from a nearby camp near the mountains. In his search to track down the relic responsible for the "curse of the Pharaohs", the Hidden One Bayek of Siwa travelled to Djehuty's village, learning of the priests capture from its residents. Along with several villagers, Bayek raided the village and freed Djehuty from capture. Afterwards, Djehuty requested his help to burn several piles of animal carcasses at a farm by the Nile.[1]
Once Bayek had done so, he met Djehuty at night at the village in preparation for a ritual for Aten. There, Djehuty invited Bayek to participate in the ceremony by placing several silicas at different statues before lighting up the ball of hay. After the ritual, Djehuty directed Bayek to the Theban Archive in the city, where texts still existed that mentioned the heretical pharaoh. [1]
