The Administrative District of the Round City of Baghdad was located north of the Caliphal Palace, where it was home to numerous administrative buildings of the caliphate including the Mazalim Courts and the Postal Bureau.
In the 860s, the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq travelled to the district to investigate the Tahirid governor Muhammad ibn Tahir, who was suspected as being the Ra's Al-Af'a of the Order of the Ancients.[1]
