Nimlot's Sword was the personal sword owned by the merchant Nimlot, who was son of the late Order of the Ancients member Mas'ood Al-Ya'qoob[1] and the true leader of a robbers gang that plagued al-Ula in the 860s.[2] In the 860s, after a chance meeting with with his father's murderer, the Alamut Hidden One Basim ibn Ishaq,[3] Nimlot had Basim's father Ishaq ibn Khalid kidnapped from his house[4] and brought to his headquarters at the Roman Fort Ruins.[2] There, Nimlot confronted Basim when he arrived to rescue Ishaq, perishing in the process. Before leaving, Basim took Nimlot's sword for his personal use.[1]
