The Faculty of Sciences is the main building of the Lens campus of the University of Artois.
History[edit | edit source]
Originally the offices for the Lens mining company, the building is adorned with eighteen dormer windows, built to represent the eighteen mines they operated. At their productive peak, a train platform was once installed for the shareholders, removing the need to go to Lens station proper.[1]
In the early 1990s, the building had passed into the hands of the university[2] and, in 1994,[3] a bronze statue of a miner was installed in the gardens, made by Hungarian artist Daniel Ference Nagy. In the 2020s, Assassin ally Simon Mulio visited the university during his search for a Templar treasure and, after his disappearance, an Abstergo employee tracking him did the same.[1]
