Ben Alder (Scottish Gaelic: Beinn Eallair) is a mountain in the Scottish Highlands, home to a fort of the same name. The fort was nestled into the mountain, as if it had been carved out of the rock itself, with four towers of different heights and a massive main keep. Before being massacred by the Templars, it was also the stronghold of Sören's clan, and, by extension, an operational center for the Scottish Brotherhood of Assassins.[1]
History
Legends say that the old fortress had been built by the Gaels as a stronghold in their efforts to conquer Scotland and expand Dál Riata, their kingdom.[2]
