Aveline infiltrated the fort via a set of underground tunnels and freed Patience, but the latter refused her help and attempted to escape the fort on her own, only to be recaptured by Judge, who forced her to give up the charm. As Judge left his men to dispose of Patience, Aveline came to her rescue, before cornering Patience at a cellar where Judge fled to. After explaining her intentions, Aveline agreed to help Patience recover her charm in exchange for her allegiance.

The two women navigated the tunnels leading to Newport Tower, where they confronted Judge, who had failed to properly activate the artifact, and killed him. Retrieving her charm, Patience revealed she had kept a crucial piece necessary to activate it. Following this, she demonstrated the charm's function; it allowed her to "see into all things" for a few seconds, as exemplified by her finishing Aveline's sentences, before accepting membership into the Assassin Brotherhood.

Aveline is a single-player downloadable content addition for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The content features the French-African Assassin Aveline de Grandpré, and is exclusive to the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC. It is also included in The Rebel Collection along with all other single player DLC for the Nintendo Switch.

Plot[edit | edit source]

In 1784, Aveline traveled to Rhode Island on the request of Connor, with the intention of locating Patience Gibbs, an escaped slave, and recruiting her to the Assassin Order. Due to Aveline's name being known among the slaves, he hoped that she might be more successful than he had previously been.[1]

In her quest to recruit Patience, Aveline learned of the mysterious charm in the young woman's possession and the Templar doctor Edmund Judge that wished to attain it. Although Aveline succeeded in rescuing Patience from the Templar's prison, the latter was unwilling to ally herself with the Assassin and attempted to flee. As a result, Patience was recaptured by Judge and forced to give up the artifact.[1]

Aveline saved Patience once more, following which the two women agreed to work together to recover the charm. Once the artifact was back in Patience's possession, she would join the Brotherhood. After navigating the tunnels leading to the Newport Tower, the two women confronted Judge, who had been unsuccessful in his attempts to activate the artifact, and killed him.[1]

Patience then revealed she had kept a crucial piece that prevented the charm from working. After demonstrating the artifact's function - it allowed her "see into all things" for a few seconds - she accepted membership into the Assassin Brotherhood.[1]

Memories[edit | edit source]
