Tokugawa Nariaki (徳川 斉昭; 1800 – 1860) was a daimyō of the Mito Domain in Japan and the father of the Tokugawa shogunate's 15th and last shōgun, Tokugawa Yoshinobu. His nationalistic views led him to despise European interferences with Japan's affairs.[1] Thus, he developed and laid some foundations for the Meiji Restoration.[2]
