The Pont au Double is a bridge in Paris that connects the Île de la Cité with the southern bank of the Seine.

The original Pont au Double was constructed after Francis I was asked to build a bridge that would allow for the transportation of patients to the Hôtel-Dieu in 1515. The bridge took its name from the toll that was imposed to pay for its constuction, a "double" denier. As the toll was extremely unpopular, it was removed in 1789.[1]
