Kazem was a Sogdian caravan leader, active in the Silk Road during the late 9th century.[1]

In 870, Kazem's caravan from Antioch to Chang'an was joined by a group of Hidden Ones passing themselves off as merchants. During the trip, Kazem talked much with Oisel and even taught him Sogdian.[2]
