Helen was the owner of a brothel in the city of Herakleion during the reign of Ptolemy XIII.
Biography[edit | edit source]
During the 1st century BCE, Helen served as the owner of a brothel in Herakleion. In 48 BCE, the brothel was visited by Venator, a Gabiniani who was in the city to attempt the assassination of the pharaoh Cleopatra, using the brothel as a base where he prepared with his followers. Helen, unaware of their true agenda, welcomed them to the brothel, providing them with discounts.[1]
Shortly afterwards, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa visited the brothel, following the trail of Venator. Helen commented that Medjay used to visit the brothel, but that Bayek was the first one in a while. Bayek requested to speak with two of her workers, who were known as the "legendary twins". After being paid, Helen granted Bayek access to the room on the second floor, asking him not to be too "hard" on them.[1]
