The Frontier was a large tract of countryside located in the American north-east. Many battles of the French and Indian War and the American Revolutionary War took place here.
The Frontier was a location generated by the Animus 3.0, representing the areas in the North American countryside visited by Haytham Kenway and Ratonhnhaké:ton.

The Frontier consisted mostly of wilderness containing cliffs, forests, rivers, and mountains inhabited by a variety of animals such as bears, beavers, deer, wolves, rabbits, cougars, and elk. Hunting Regions split up the land, where Connor logged the different species he hunted there.

While Boston and New York City were the primary settlements located near the Frontier, the countryside itself also contained several small Native American and European ones such as the towns of Lexington, Concord, Charlestown, and Connor's own Mohawk village, Kanatahséton. One could also find logging camps, mills, and trading posts.
Regions
The Frontier was split into twelve hunting grounds, each containing four different types of wildlife:

Black Creek
As the war waged on, the condition of the towns would change as a consequence to the battles. At different times, one could find battalions of men readying for a charge, or injured soldiers by abandoned tents.
Located at the most north-western area of the Frontier, Black Creek contained hares, beavers, elk, and bobcats. It contained Fort Duquesne in Pennsylvania, and the Grand Temple in Turin, New York.

The Assassin Connor was particularly skilled in navigating the Frontier; he was able to climb and free-run across rocks and tree branches, granting him an advantage over his enemies and prey traveling below, as well as offering a quicker method of traveling during winter when the snow was knee deep.
Concord
Located roughly in the center of the Frontier, Concord, Massachusetts, included hares, raccoon, beavers, and deer. A trading post was located on the western edge of town, on the road leading to Valley Forge.

Frontiersmen
Diamond Basin
Frontiersmen are people that could be found camping around the Frontier, and usually consisted of hunters. They often tell Connor, who occasionally rests at one of these camps, tales of their adventures or strange sightings that occurred around the land. However, the Frontiersmen could also be encountered within Boston.
The Diamond Basin hunting region was located north of Concord. It included cougars, deer, wolves, and beavers.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf
Great Piece Hills
A Frontiersman tells Connor about his encounter with some Natives that led to a small paranoia about the possibility of them following him after the encounter. He also states that a camp of his was apparently raided by said Natives and had killed his fellow hunters. Investigating, Connor found two dead bodies and a wolf, concluding that the men were killed by the wolf after a violent argument.
Great Piece Hills was located in the north-east, just south of John's Town. It included hares, wolves, elk, and bobcats. Boston Light overlooked the eastern lake.

Sasquatch
John's Town
Another Frontiersman tells Connor of the Sasquatch, an ape-like creature that walked on both legs and often stole from residences. Investigating the last known sighting of the beast, Connor finds a man setting up his home beside a waterfall, with supplies he stole from local residents. Connor realizes that the rumors of the thefts are true, but the Sasquatch was a mere man.
Located at the most north-eastern area of the Frontier, John's Town in New York included hares, foxes, elk, and bears. It was the site of Sir William Johnson's homestead, Johnson Hall, and contained the route to the Davenport Homestead in Massachusetts.

The Haunted Lighthouse
Kanièn:keh
A Frontiersman tells Connor a tale about his experience near a supposedly haunted lighthouse. When he was fishing, he and his compatriots heard a howling in the wind a figure atop the house. Connor investigates, finds several footprints in the area and climbs up the lighthouse. There, he found a hooded tree positioned to look like a ghost, suggesting that it was there to scare off any possible intruders.
Located at the central northern area of the Frontier, the Kanièn:keh Nation Territory, or "Mohawk Valley", was the location of Kanatahséton. Game included hares, foxes, deer, and cougars.

The Headless Horseman
Lexington
A Frontiersman relates the tale of the Headless Horseman, a German mercenary who was decapitated by a cannonball in battle, and how it continues to decapitate victims while replacing his head with a pumpkin. Connor finds a victim of the Horseman and briefly catches a glimpse of the monster, who laughs and rides off. Despite the eery encounter, Connor concludes that the Horseman is merely a normal human serial killer with a gimmick.
Located roughly in the center of the Frontier, west of Concord, Massachusetts, the town of Lexington included raccoon, hares, foxes, and deer. A trading post was located to the north, near an inn.
The Monster Of The Sea
In Boston, Connor hears a tale about several fishermen spotting the head of a sea monster appearing out of the water before returning under. Going around the city, Connor learns that the monster might be under the control of an old man, who was constantly found in the area that the creature appeared. Connor then learns that the old man has died, and was a trader. Investigating the man's workshop, Connor found a large helmet, oxygen tank, and tools which allowed anyone that wore the outfit to breathe underwater, showing that the witnesses were only seeing the trader testing out his invention.
Monmouth
Unidentified Flying Object
The Monmouth, New Jersey hunting ground included elk, raccoon, hares, and foxes. It was the location of the Fort Monmouth and a harbor. A trading post was located just north of the harbor, on the road leading to Troy's Wood.
Connor hears another tale about a strange object shooting up into the sky in a blinding light over Beacon Hill before disappearing into space. Looking around the area, Connor found the UFO in a tree. It was only an umbrella, blown by a wind into the air and reflecting moonlight to simulate the glow.

Packanack
The Packanack hunting ground included hares, beavers, bobcats, and bears.

Scotch Plains
The Scotch Plains hunting ground included raccoon, deer, hares, and cougars. It contained the routes to Boston and New York, as well as Fort St-Mathieu.

Troy's Wood
The Troy's Wood hunting ground included hares, deer, elk, and wolves.

Valley Forge
The Valley Forge hunting ground included hares, beavers, raccoon, and elk. It was the site of the Continental Army's camp during the first half of 1778.

Overlook of the Frontier

The Frontier was a location generated by the Animus 3.0, representing the areas in the North American countryside visited by Haytham Kenway and Ratonhnhaké:ton.[1]

During the Seven Years' War and subsequent American Revolutionary War, the countryside of Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey was gradually being settled by colonial hunters and traders, as the fur pelts of American animals were in high demand in England and France.[1]

Regions[edit | edit source]

The Frontier was split into twelve hunting grounds, each containing four different types of wildlife:

Black Creek[edit | edit source]

Located at the most north-western area of the Frontier, Black Creek contained hares, beavers, elk, and bobcats. It contained Fort Duquesne in Pennsylvania, and the Grand Temple in Turin, New York.

Concord[edit | edit source]

Located roughly in the center of the Frontier, Concord, Massachusetts, included hares, raccoon, beavers, and deer. A trading post was located on the western edge of town, on the road leading to Valley Forge
