Xicotencatl II

Xicotencatl II Axayacatl, also known as Xicotencatl the Younger (c. 1480s – 1521), was the prince of Tlaxcala during the time of the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire.

Biography

On 31 August 1519, as the Spanish began their invasion of Tlaxcaltec lands Xicotencatl was mentioned in conversation by a warrior to the tecuhtli Chimalpopoca in passing as their discussed the actions of Xicotencatl's father, the Elder and his planned peace negotiations with the Spanish invaders. Something which made Xicotencatl's father to be considered a coward in the eyes of Chimalpopoca.
