The Temple of Hephaistos on Lemnos

The Temple of Hephaistos was an ancient temple dedicated to Hephaistos on the Greek island of Lemnos.

The temple stood on a small hill and overlooked the seaport town of Myrina in the southwest. By the 5th century BCE, the temple was largely in ruins, including the statue depicting the god of smithing and forgery. During the Peloponnesian War the temple was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
