Isu?[edit source]
Do we know for certain that Ymir is an actual Isu and not a metaphor for something else? Lacrossedeamon (talk) 04:21, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- Actually, you might be right. How does a being originate the whole world as we know it? I'd say it's a metaphor for maybe the end of a mass extinction. - TiagoFF (talk) 16:46, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- Perhaps, but it's technically speculative. Furthermore, though, Ymir is described in myth as a proto-being that existed before the gods. If the Isu lived before humans and are already seen as gods in AC, what "species"/entity is before the Precursors? – Darman (talk) 19:30, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- I hope that we discover that in future. I mean, out of the "mythological layer", he supposedly was the ancestor of all the jötnar Isu, the first Asgardian Isu and even, who knows, the Muspels. According to theses facts, he might have originated all the Precursors themselves. But, of course, there is a ton of speculation here. - TiagoFF (talk) 23:29, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
