Vision versus Insight[edit source]
How or even should we address the fact that in game Eivor specifically states that Synin means "insight" not "vision" as claimed by the answer key for the first quiz? Lacrossedeamon (talk) 03:48, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- But it's not about Sýnin, it's the Old Norse word sýn that her name derives from, which does mean "vision". Recall too that Ashraf's tweet said devs wanted the name to be as close to "insight" as possible. Otherwise, we likely could've added the inconsistency in "Behind the scenes" with the AC4/ACRG card art issue. However, I think we have an issue in the ACOD quiz with the Adrestia question. As I recall, I believe the Cyclops only owned the ship, but it was commanded proper by Barnabas, yes? – Darman (talk) 04:10, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- It was captained by Barnabas but commanded by the Cyclops just like afterwards it was still captained by Barnabas but now commanded by Kassandra. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 04:31, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- Also Synin is just the definite form of Syn which as stated by Eivor in game means insight. And like two of those definitions on wikitionary mean insight as well. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 04:36, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- Ah, then it's twice my mistake. Thanks for correcting me. We can add the insight bit to BTS. Funny, for some reason, I'd always had the impression that Cyclops only owned (but never sailed) the ship and that he had Barnabas forcibly employed, so he could sail where he pleased but occasionally had to do some of Cyclops' unsavory work. – Darman (talk) 04:50, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
