Talk:The Beggar's Opera
Possible AC4 appearance[edit source]
AC4's epilogue "How Grand, Master Kenway!" is dated to the vague 1730s, since Haytham is still a child. In it, Edward, Jennifer, and Haytham attend a theater performance, but the memory ends before the stage actors deliver any lines as they do in AC3's "A Deadly Performance", so it could be one of any number of shows they saw. However, Edward says that they could "quit this posh gig and go and meet your mother for some chocolate at White's", which Forsaken says is where the family went for Haytham's birthday on 4 December. However, it does not mention his attending The Beggar's Opera until his recollection later as an adult, only that Edith and Betty dressed Haytham "in [his] smartest suit. Then the four [Kenways] were stepping into a carriage at the kerb outside" before skipping ahead to their chocolate visit. Also, Edward's page already claims the memory as being on Haytham's birthday though this is still uncertain. Is there enough evidence to plausibly date "How Grand" though? – Darman (talk) 15:35, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- Given that the achievement for reaching that epilogue is "Saw that coming" I think it's safe to say this is the play they went to. We even say it is in the body of the article. Not sure if it should be in the Appearance section though and if so how. As for dating, that's more iffy given they could have gone for chocolate any number of times.
