Name[edit source]
Isn't this "Plan" the same idea as François-Thomas Germain's "Great Work" that intended to abolish nobility and replace with mercantile forces, i.e., just another name/stage in the Templars' quest for their New World Order? – Darman (talk) 02:20, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- I'd argue that this is closer to an event than a goal, which is what the NWO is, though I must admit I don't feel strong enough one way or another (for or against the merge). - Soranin (talk) 03:35, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- I actually always thought "the Plan" was just the idea of creating Abstergo Industries itself, not the broader scheme of replacing the nobility with the middle-class as their new puppets. But this is just based on the Abstergo File, which is very vague about it. If the Plan was devised in 1910, this would be later than Germain's "Great Work" unless there was a slight bit of retcon. It really doesn't help that Ubisoft can't be bothered to think of more original names for these things (e.g. "Second Disaster", "Great Catastrophe", "the Vault", "the Precursor box", etc....) - Also would like to add that the article title should probably be "The Plan" not just "Plan". Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 05:22, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- In broad strokes one can justly argue that the "Great Work" is a the same, but that would be in so broad strokes that the discussion is more so about the idea of a New World Order than the intent of the reforms of Germain vs intent of reform of the "Founders" of Abstergo. By the time of the Founders, the nobility had long been replaced by capitalists, hence why the "The Plan" (better page name) is a major reform but also an event that adjusted Templar control via Capitalism to the most modern conditions following countless technological and scientific advancements of the means of production. The Rifts from Brotherhood also presents it as an event while naming both individuals and the place of it happening along with the long term plans past this one event. - And the Abstergo Industries page has all the info about this event. ACsenior (talk) 23:05, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
