Talk:Oiá:ner
Ratonhnhaké:ton's Grandmother[edit source]
Isn't she his grandmother since she is Kaniehtí:io's mother? TemplarAgent (talk) 00:59, January 23, 2013 (UTC)
Kaniehtí:io and Ratonhnhaké:ton are in no way related, they were childhood friends I believe. Lucan07Haunt me...and Stuff 01:00, January 23, 2013 (UTC)
- Luc, I think you're confusing Kaniehtí:io with Kanen'tó:kon. Stormbeast ♉ The Helpful Place 02:22, January 23, 2013 (UTC)
- Gah, their names are so similar. My bad xD . Lucan07Haunt me...and Stuff 05:29, January 23, 2013 (UTC)
- Kaniehtí:io was noted in the ADB to be the daughter of a Clan Mother, but there's no confirmation on whether the one we meet in the game is the same as the one mentioned in the ADB. If the one in the game is Kaniehtí:io's mother, that would also make her an ancestor of Desmond by extension. ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 07:22, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

The title Oia:ner is used in this article like it is the name of this character, which it is not. To say "Oiá:ner was the Clan Mother of the Kanien'kehá:ka village of Kanatahséton" is redundant, as oia:ner and clan mother mean the same thing. I'm not familiar with the proper stylistic way to word things on wikis...so I'll just leave this information here. Batistabus 00:00, March 10, 2013 (EST)
In the AC3 Database and in AC:Initates, it comfirms that she is his grandmother. Mr.DarkBlade (talk) 00:59, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
Can you provide the verbatim to back this up please? Slate Vesper (talk) 01:36, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
Sure, here is the source, if you have access to the Initates: Fire in Her Eyes if not here is a rip from the AC: Initates, it was found under the Database section, to Memory Sequences, on The American Revolution memory, in the page called Fire in her Eyes: Kaniehtí:io was born into the Kanien'keha:ka people who were living on the frontier lands outside of Boston during the French and Indian War. As the daughter of the Clan Mother she was groomed for leadership.
It was also located in the AC3 database page on Zio's bio. Oh and apperently, Ducan Walpole is a Master Assassin, hinted in the AC4 database on his bio, and a legit page on the AC: Initates. I'll send a link on his talk page.
I wanted to write these changes myself, but as I learned, my edits always ended up deleted. Mr.DarkBlade (talk) 03:27, March 13, 2014 (UTC)
The Clan Mother of a tribe was decided by its members. She may not be the same Clan Mother who was Ziio's mother. Slate Vesper (talk) 21:23, March 13, 2014 (UTC)
Actually being Clan Mother is a lifelong job. As quoted in the AC3 Database, "A Clanmother is installed for life and is only released on account of merit, sickness, or death." Further research shows that a Clanmother chooses the next potential Clanmother to take her place. Ziio lost her position as potential Clanmother due to her ties with the Templar, Haytham. Plus looking at Oia:ner and Ziio's age, it pretty much shows this was a life preparement before Ziio acted out on her own. ---Mr.DarkBlade (talk) 00:22, March 14, 2014 (UTC)
However, that does not solidify Oia:ner as Ziio's mother. Ziio's mother could have been a prior Clan Mother who died and the mantle was passed onto Oia:ner, who chose to raise Ziio towards being a future Clan Mother. Until it is stated outright, we cannot take presumptions as fact. Slate Vesper (talk) 00:45, March 14, 2014 (UTC)
