Talk:Margaret Thatcher
Historical character[edit source]
You do realize that recent history still counts as history, right? I would most definately list this under "Historical characters". If you disagree, I would like to know why. Same goes for the rest of these: George W. Bush, Margaret Thatcher, John Roberts, Henry Kissinger, Al Gore, Condoleezza Rice, Dick Cheney. 98.192.42.30 04:02, April 20, 2011 (UTC)
In relation to politically active (either current or formerly) individuals, the Historical Character category can only apply to deceased individuals. Kaloneous 01:53, July 15, 2011 (UTC)

Date of Death[edit source]
Shouldn't we edit her page to note her death date? Her birth date is not in the game, that's no reason not to have it on here... 91.125.108.225 12:43, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
- As of the last canon release (Assassin's Creed III in November 2012), Thatcher was alive. As no further material has been released since her date of death, we cannot possibly say that, in Ubisoft's canon, Thatcher is dead. That would be original research and/or speculation and is thus against our Sourcing policy. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 14:18, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
- The same could be said for her date of birth, and that of any other real life person whose dates of birth and death have not been mentioned. Or whom exactly Margaret Thatcher and the other people from the Glyphs and Clusters are and what they do. A clear line has to be drawn to what and when the sourcing policy applies. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:00, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
- Couldn't we just have it so that, if there is a real world development, we update the wiki with that information unless it contradicts the canon? RussellSparrow (talk) 15:15, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
- As far as I see it, her death is probably bound to be referenced in ACIV:BF, since you as the player are going to be uncovering knowledge about influential events post-2012 and how they're linked in to the Assassin and Templar conflict, perhaps made available with a little bit of interference by Erudito.
- For the time being, going with her official date of death wouldn't really be a problem, it can simply be changed if the universe has contradictory information when ACIV:BF is released. Slate Vesper (talk) 18:58, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
- I highly doubt Margaret Thatcher's death is something the game is gonna elaborate on. Within the AC universe, she is hardly of any note, and a mention of her death is of no value to the game. None of the other games elaborated on similar characters like John Maynard Keynes, Winston Churchill and Boris Yeltsin. The point is, if it's okay to list the birthdates and deathdates of any of those characters, then Thatcher's isn't any different. Or we would assume that Keynes, Churchill and Yeltsin still live in the AC universe because their deaths aren't mentioned. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 22:13, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
- Well, if you consider her funeral being state-funded and the animosity towards her reforms based on the mining unions, it could be interesting if some event stemming from it appeared within the AC mythos. Slate Vesper (talk) 22:49, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
