William M.'s emails[edit source]

Just want to point out that the emails Lucy receives are secretly from Vidic, not William. "We've analyzed the tapes you left for us" refers to Lucy leaving some of the tapes in the AC2 hideout for Vidic to pick up, and "just make sure your friendship doesn't jeopardize our goals" refers to the Templars' goals, obviously. Maybe we could mention this somewhere on the article? -- Master Sima Yi 18:05, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

But were the Templars even aware of William's position in the order? The only thing that mentions them being aware of him is in the Abstergo Files videos. Slate Vesper 18:21, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
Actually it says that they found out his location, not who he is. It's very likely Lucy told the Templars about William. -- Master Sima Yi 18:33, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
I suppose that works. Slate Vesper 18:36, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
That's all well and good, but we need an explicit source for this information. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 23:05, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
I know... Though Jeffrey points it out in the podcast and RussellSparrow just made a blog elaborating on it further. -- Master Sima Yi 23:21, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

IRL manual emails[edit source]

The physical manuals for the first two games were framed as emails as from Lucy to Vidic and then to "Undisclosed" with the controls and feedback as an email attachment (https://store.steampowered.com/manual/15100 and https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/33230/manuals/AssassinsCreed.pdf) but I'm not sure how to format these. Damn, nice finds! Hmm...We can't just type up the entire manuals, but these are still written as in-universe docs with sticky-notes like the ACU Abstergo Handbook. I'm thinking just implement the intros and medical info of the respective ancestor up as an email until just before Section 1 – Controls, and then for the AC1 booklet, skip all of its contents and add the Maintenance Dept's message to Warren about the Animus' new Subject. – Darman (talk) 04:20, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
You actually have that backwards, it's Vidic emailing maintenance with Lucy CC'd and then Lucy's email to Vidic seems to be in response. But the fact that Lucy's attachment for the controls already includes Vidic's feedback doesn't make sense to me; the second manual is better since the feedback is from Lucy herself. As it is I already have a sandbox for all the in game animus e-manuals (so like I think we could kinda just type up the entire manual just like we do with the databases) but it needs better formatting and how to deal with the fact its written in both IU and OOU perspective (the physical manuals are actually a little better with this). I also think the annotations themselves would be out of place on that page were it to be published. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 04:42, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
Whoops, misread who the senders were, thanks. You're right, having notes like "This is a good idea" or "Tweak to improve" just...floating out-of-context would indeed look strange. How will we implement the PC controls? At least for XB and PS, it's simple things like "press RB, X, ⬜," etc, but the wiki doesn't use the key press template like WP does. Simplest answer I feel would be to just build that same template here, I take it? – Darman (talk) 14:00, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
