Isu year[edit source]
Do we know if one Isu year or unit is the same as what we now think of as a year? Lacrossedeamon (talk) 17:18, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
- I think I went with orbits of the Sun being a safe assumption until Rah Cel'eze said "your centuries" and Yggdrasil allowed alt futures that could be simulated. Vetinari(Appointment) 20:18, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah the Rah Cel'eze quote as well as Fate of Atlantis is why I have doubts regarding them being 1 to 1 now. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 08:16, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
- I'm pretty confident with Yggdrasil and Layla's what if machine Animus being a thing, Atlantis is calculations/mods (loop of seven years but solar flare keeps approaching) and explains how Bayek went to the afterlife but ambiguity of one Isu year = one human year should be in a behind the scenes section, if that. - Layla's notes on the Staff say ~75,100 BCE / ~2200 IE. So 75,000 BCE per Initiates timeline (no circa in there) / 2306 IE means the years aren't 1:1, no? Vetinari(Appointment) 21:54, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
- They are dealing with estimations there still so it's hard to tell. I view Initiates not putting in a c. an oversight or just a quirk of conveying info simply. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 00:54, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
