Callous Dialogue[edit source]

This is an ongoing discussion.

The Wemba tabber just needs the mean response and its dialogue. I couldn't find it cause it seems everyone was nice to Wemba. I mean I understand but you know... Batfan13 (talk) 00:00, 21 March 2021 (UTC)Batfan13

Successful persuade = fail[edit source]

I just played this part, and Harriet still summoned guards on me when I used the charisma dialogue option. Our page does not mention this detail for this option. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 09:54, 22 July 2024 (UTC)

Actually the transcription is all over the place right now, with multiple different paths interrupting one another, making it impossible for a reader to follow the proper sequence of events. This page needs some serious corrections. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 09:59, 22 July 2024 (UTC)

Okay, I have tested some more outcomes, and there are actually so many dialogue variations. Unfortunately, the article needs a complete overhaul. I am just going to leave some notes here for now:

  • There are 3 real clues at the funeral: the discarded clothes, Wemba, and the corpse. The dialogue Eivor speaks when interacting with the clues changes depending on which clue(s) you have already investigated and the exact order you have investigated them. (e.g. She references what she has already learned to Wemba or has more to say about the corpse. And yes, they differ depending on if you have interacted with 1 clue or 2 clues before the 3rd as well).
  • Eivor will speak an extra line to herself, "This funeral is a shadow-play..." only if she has investigated all three clues.
  • The investigation can be prematurely ended at any time by speaking with Harriet and going through with the dialogue. The dialogue for both the charismatic option and the accusation both changes depending on whether or not you have completed the investigation. If you have, Eivor will reveal to her that she already knows everything about the whole story.
  • Eivor's dialogue with Wemba changes all the way through if she chooses to be mean about his friend, but Wemba's lines will stay the same until after the conversation. If you speak to him again, he will either ask you to be his friend or call you out for being a bully.
  • Harriet's verbal reaction differs depending on not just the dialogue options Eivor choose but also whether or not she completed the investigation.
  • But, Harriet's actual reaction will always be the same. She will always call 3 guards on Eivor. This essentially moots the whole investigation because doing it doesn't change anything and you can just choose not to do it or end it prematurely by accident.

In addition, the page is currently missing variations of the assassination.

  • Apparently there is no way to fail it. If you don't intercept Ealhferth before he attacks King Alfred... well he never actually attacks King Alfred. He just announces himself, and his other lookalikes fight Goodwin and Alfred with him. Also if Eivor is in the vicinity, she will be automatically detected once they start fighting Alfred and Goodwin even if she wasn't detectable before. There is additional dialogue from Alfred if the fight breaks out that is missing from the page.
  • Assassinating the wrong bannerman obviously starts the boss fight right away.
  • Alfred and Goodwin just knows that Eivor is hunting a disguised Ealhferth even if she assassinated him or one of his guards randomly, when you would think they could have mistook her for attacking them. Like if you killed a random bannerman, Alfred will instantly be like "Ealhferth is alive!" before Ealhferth has even done anything instead of "Ah Eivor, you've come to assassinate me!" For my playthrough, I assassinated Ealhferth just as he approached Alfred and unsheathed his sword so it all happened so naturally.

I don't know if I will be able to find the time to revamp this whole page. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 23:44, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
